Solid results with one event to go in 2006!

At last, the rest of the parts arrived for Team EB Speed’s turbo Pro Street GSX-R1000, and were installed just days before the Edmonton race. The new boost controller and water injection system were finally going to be tested at this event. As the qualifying went well, Ethan placed in the top spot with an 8.92 @ 163 MPH. In eliminations, the bike ran well, clicking off low nine second passes. Fellow racer, Glen Fraser would meet Barkley in the finals. As they pulled up to the line, the newly installed water injection system on Ethan’s bike malfunctioned, causing it to stall. This allowed Glen his first CMDRA win.

The Street class was extremely competitive with twenty two entries. Ethan qualified well in the fourth position. The little GSX-R1000 was running great, putting up consistent 9.80’s @ 144 MPH. Ethan would meet up against fellow southern Albertan Gerald Beatch aboard his Suzuki Hayabusa. It was a classic drag race, with Gerald getting the win by the narrowest of margins, a mere three hundredths of a second.

All in all, the Edmonton event turned out quite well with a pair of runner-up finishes that increased our points lead in both classes.
