A tricky track at the fourth stop on the schedule

Northern Lights Raceway in Fort St. John, BC – July 22-23, 2006
Poor track conditions and mechanical issues plagued team EB Speed all weekend. In an effort to gain more traction with his Pro Street turbocharged GSX-R1000, Ethan was forced to reduce the power output from his turbo. He qualified in second place and went on to finish runner up next to competitor, Ken Froese.

As the Street Class proved to be very challenging that weekend, Ethan uncharacteristically qualified in fifth place. Once qualifying was over, Ethan and EB Speed’s crew chief James Carlin, pulled the clutch from the near stock Suzuki GSX-R1000. Much to their surprise, the clutch was completely used up, and was pinpointed as the cause of the lackluster performance of their launch.

On Sunday, Ethan was up against championship rival Ken Froese in round one. After numerous hours of repairing the clutch the night before, they discovered that the clutch worked too well, and Ethan ran too fast and broke out, handing the win to Ken. This allowed Ken to gain valuable points in the overall standings as Froese went on to finish in second place.
